Ιt is very important to know that when you book a boat from us, you agree to our terms and conditions.
We request our clients to pay attention to the following:
1.BOOKING
1.1 No license is required for handling a motorboat up to 30hp.
1.2 You must be at least 19 years old to make a booking.
1.3 You must be physically and legally qualified to operate the boat, especially not suffering from a physical or mental illness, which may deprive the ability to operate the boat or endanger oneself or others.
1.4 A valid driving license for a car or motorbike is required.
1.5 When booking, you must provide us with your contact details. These details must include a mobile number, email, so that we can contact you at any time if needed. If you fail to meet this obligation and we cannot reach you, we will not be held liable because of lack of information from us concerning any change, amendment, delay or cancellation.
1.6 In order to complete the reservation you must prepay. Α security deposit is charged on the day of rental.
1.7 After you have made your booking we will send you an e-mail confirming acceptance. Please check your confirmation e-mail very carefully. If there are any discrepancies or it is not what you think you booked, please contact us immediately and no later within 24 hours of booking for clarifications.
2.NECESSARY DOCUMENTS ON PICK UP DAY
Upon visiting our base in «Gaios Marina» you :
sign a rental agreement
receive a rental certificate from us
receive the boat license
receive a copy of a valid insurance contract
receive a copy of certificate of assistance
receive a copy of General Port Regulation (number 20, 23, 38)
are responsible to carry with you all relevant documents as below: valid passport or ID, valid credit card (we accept VISA, MASTERCARD) in order to pay security deposit.
mobile phone fully charged is essential onboard. It must always be switched on in order to communicate at any case (any emergency)
3.BOAT HIRE PROCEDURE
3.1 You have to arrive at our starting point in «Gaios Marina» at least 30 min earlier from your rental.
3.2 Non-arrival at our starting point by the agreed time of rental, without prior notification shall entitle “PAXOSBOATESCAPE” to treat the booking as cancelled.
3.3 Every boat is checked before the commencement of hire. “PAXOSBOATESCAPE” will demonstrate and explain the function of the boat and its equipment.
3.4 The boat check will be done at your presence and a inventory list will be signed by you, after check, prior to departure.
3.5 A rental agreement will be signed, in which you have to state the “Captain ” of the boat.
4.FUEL:
4.1 Fuel is not included in the price.
4.2 The boat is given with a full main and secondary tank. At the end of the boat trip, the customer is obliged to pay the fuel that he has spent.
5.INSURANCE
5.1 The boat is insured for its civil liability against third parties with sufficient insurance
5.2 “PAXOSBOATESCAPE RENTAL” shall not be liable for any damages / or personal injury which may be caused to you or any of occupants for any reason whatsoever.
5.3 Although boats are insured, you are primarily responsible for any damage or loss to the boat and its equipment.
5.4 In case of any damage or loss, you have to pay the amount of excess in full or part of. This amount will vary depending on the type of damage/loss.
5.5 You will be held responsible for the actions of the other members of your party as well.
5.6 “PAXOSBOATESCAPE” shall not be liable for any loss or theft or destruction of any property of you at any time during the rental period.
6.SECURITY DEPOSIT:
6.1 On boat pick-up day, you are obliged to pay by credit card a mandatory security deposit of 500 euro that will be held by “PAXOSBOATESCAPE” for the entire duration of your rental period. Alternatively this amount could be paid in cash.
6.2 If the boat is returned on time, in the same condition as given and without damage, loss of equipment or third party claim against you, the deposit will be given back to you.
6.3 Where delay loss or damage has occurred, whole or part of your security deposit may be withheld by us to cover the cost of damage or loss, without any prejudice to all rights.
7.ACCIDENTS:
7.1 You are responsible for the boat’s safe navigation and for the actions of each member of your party and you must take all reasonable care. The boat may be driven only by the Captain .
7.2 In the case of any accident or damage to the boat: you must notify us immediately reporting full details and you should wait for our instructions.
7.3 No action should be taken by your own initiative. We will take steps to repair the boat as quickly as practicable in the circumstances.
7.4 In the case of any accident or damage to any other craft or waterway property you must: record the details (name, model and registration number) of any other boat involved with names, addresses of its owner and witnesses (where applicable). Immediately report the fact to “ PAXOSBOATESCAPE” with full details.
8.CHILDREN:
8.1 Children are counted as adults on board.
8.2 The minimum age of an infant we recommend to be carried on board is up to 5 years old, but this is subject to parent discretion.
8.3 Infants are requested to travel seated on the lap of an adult responsible for that infant.
8.4 At the moment of booking, we have to be informed when children are going to be aboard in order to provide you special junior lifejackets.
8.5 We recommend that children should wear lifejackets when boat is moving.
9.GENERAL REGULATION:
9.1 The rented boat shall not be used for any other reason other than tourist sightseeing within the maritime ( coastal )area of Paxos .
9.2 Rated Passenger/Weight Carrying Capacity: 6p / 650kg
9.3 The rented boat shall not be used to carry passengers, goods or materials in excess of the rated passenger/weight carrying capacity of the boat as stipulated in 9.2 above.
9.3 The rented boat shall not be used to push, propel or tow another boat, barge or any other thing without the written permission of the Owner.
9.4 The rented boat (and motor) shall not be used for any race or in any competition.
9.5 The rented boat (and motor) shall not be used for any illegal purpose according the Greek Law.
9.6 Do not operate the boat (or motor) in a negligent manner.
9.7 The rented boat (or motor) shall not be operated by any other person other than the Captain without our written permission.
9.8 You shall not remove the motor from the boat for any use whatsoever.
9.9 You and your guests shall not make use of alcohol drinks or forbidden substances
9.10 The boat will be inspected again and in case of damage or loss, a charge will be made. The return of the boat later than the estimated arrival time, without any notification or in a filthy condition, will result in an extra payment.
9.11 Early return of the boat does not entitle you a refund claim.
9.12 In case of delay in the return of the vessel, there is an additional charge.
9.13 You shall not use on board any gas appliances, heaters of any type.
9.14 You shall deliver the boat at the base in the state that was received.
9.15 You have to navigate in accordance with current byelaws and observe the speed limits and safety distance limits, as explained.
9.16 The maximum distance of boat from the coast should not exceed 2NM.
9.17 It is strictly forbidden to approach the buoys more than 200 meters, if there are not buoys then you have to keep a distance of 300 meters from the shore.
9.18 “PAXOSBOATESCAPE” may, at its absolute discretion, refuse to hand over a boat or terminate the boat rental period where, in the opinion of “PAXOSBOATESCAPE” the driver is likely to cause damage, distress or fails to comply with company rules. In such event “PAXOSBOATESCAPE” will offer you one of our skipper to assist you for the rest of the journey with extra charge.
10.CANCELLATION POLICY
10.1 Cancellation is required at least 72 hours prior to time of departure to avoid being charged rental fee in full.
10.2 Cancellation or no-show on the date and agreed time of departure will result in the Renter being charged in full the rental fee.
10.3 In the event of inclement weather, where the coast guards do not permit boat rentals, planned hires may be delayed or cancelled. In such cases, they will be rescheduled for the first available date. If there is no available date, the reservation will be cancelled without incurring a cancellation fee.
10.4 In case that the customer decides to return the boat earlier than scheduled, please note that refunds will not be provided.
11.PERSONAL DATA
“PAXOS BOAT RENTAL”, respect Privacy and comply with National and European law on the protection of personal data “General Data Protection Regulation No. (EU) 679/2016”.

OBLIGATIONS OF THE CAPTAIN/OPERATOR OF RENTED MOTOR BOATS AND SPEED BOATS
- The operator of a rented motorboat or speedboat assumes all obligations and responsibilities deriving from the applicable legislation for the management of a ship, within the meaning of article 3 of the Public Maritime Law Code, as well as the responsibility to comply with the special provisions concerning their movement, circulation and management.
- The operators of high-speed boats: a) prohibit the boarding of persons who are not able to swim or persons under the influence of alcohol or toxic substances, b) prohibit the boarding of persons whose number is greater than that stated in the boat’s seaworthiness certificate, c) prohibit passengers from standing or sitting on the handrail of the boat, d) operate the boat with great care and diligence, avoiding dangerous maneuvers, paying ultimate respect to safety of navigation and the avoidance of pollution of the sea and coasts, e) carry on board the original high-speed boat operator’s license, the original boat’s seaworthiness certificate and a copy of the insurance policy, which must be shown whenever requested by a competent coastguard officer, f) carry on board the applicable safety equipment, such as life-saving and fire-fighting equipment. All supplies must be ready for immediate use, Possible expiration date of safety equipment has not passed, g) apply the special port regulations, the decisions, orders and instructions of the competent coastguard authority, concerning among others, anchoring, prohibition or limitations of movement, for special reasons, of the boats’ in a specific sea area or during quiet hours, h) in the event that they are responsible for an accident affecting another vessel or person, they are obliged to remain on scene of the accident and provide every possible assistance to the victim(s). They also have an obligation to immediately report the accident to the local coastguard authority.
- High-speed boats are prohibited from sailing: a) when adverse weather conditions prevail, b) at a distance of less than one hundred meters from the outer part of the floating buoys of article 26 of the General Port Regulation no. 20, c) at a distance of less than two hundred meters from the usual point that swimmers reach, in the sea areas not marked with floating buoys, d) at a speed of more than five knots at a distance of less than two hundred meters from the coastline, in areas where there are no swimmers.
- It is prohibited to operate the motor boat: a) when adverse weather conditions prevail, b) at a distance of less than one hundred meters from the outer part of the floating buoys of article 26 of the General Port Regulation no. 20, c) at a distance of less than two hundred (200) meters from the usual point that swimmers reach, in the sea areas that are not marked with floating buoys, d) with a speed of more than five knots at a distance of less than two hundred (200) meters from the coastline, in sea areas where no people swim.
